Beverly, MA — Mike passed away peacefully at home Sunday following an eight-year battle with cancer. Although cancer robbed Mike of being able to fully enjoy his teenage years, he never felt sorry for himself, or neglected his studies. He graduated from Beverly High, Class of 2010.
He was a very inspiring young man. If you ever found yourself complaining about something trivial, all you had to do was look at Mike, who never once complained about the situation he was in. He was the strongest person you would ever meet and a huge Boston sports fan.
Mike is survived by his parents, John Petrosino and Paula Canning Petrosino; his sister, Kristen Petrosino and her fiance, Matthew Durand and his niece, Olivia Durand; his brother and best friend, John Petrosino; his maternal grandmother, Janice Coogan; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dog, Rusty.
Mike also leaves behind all his friends, who traveled this road with him, and who helped him just by being there for him.
Mike was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Dominic and Virginia (Zampell) Petrosino; and his maternal grandfather, Douglas Canning.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services are to be held at 2 p.m., February 8, at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 705 Hale St., Beverly Farms. A celebration of life will follow at the Danversport Yacht Club in Danvers. All relatives and friends of Mike and his family are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Angels Above, P.O. Box 9501, Lowell, MA 01852, or at angelsabovecharity.org.
