Kathy L. Brown, 65


Ipswich — Mrs. Kathy L. (Rohrer) Brown, of Ipswich, passed away on Thursday at the Seacoast Nursing Center in Gloucester following a 7 year battle with Alzheimer’s disease, she was 65. Born in Gainesville, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Austin E. Bickers and Llona B. (Sparkman) Rohrer. Kathy came to Massachusetts as a teenager with her mother, Llona and her stepfather, William Rohrer, settling in Swampscott. A graduate of Marblehead High School with the Class of 1969, Kathy went on to further studies at Salem State College; graduating with the Class of 1973. In 2007 she retired from Topsfield Town Hall where she served 15 years as the assistant Treasurer. She enjoyed reading, ceramics, taking vacations and West Beach; but mostly enjoyed time spent with her husband, Robert, and their family; raising many golden retrievers over the years.

In addition to her beloved husband, Robert T. Brown of Ipswich, she is survived by her stepson, Robert T. Brown, Jr. of Ipswich; her stepdaughter, Susan H. Brown of Portland, Maine; as well as two grandchildren, Robert T. Brown, III and Elizabeth Brown, both of Hamilton.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., North Beverly on Tuesday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
