Mary A. Pietrini, 72


Beverly — Mary A. Pietrini, 72, formerly of Beverly, died on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Brooksby Village in Peabody.

Born and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Santa (Taglieri-Picariello) Pietrini. She received her education at St. Mary Star of the Sea Grammar School and High School. She continued her education, graduating from Merrimack College in North Andover, and received her master's degree in English from Salem State College.

Ms. Pietrini had been employed as an English teacher for 35 years in the Danvers Public School System until the time of her retirement.

Mary loved teaching, with a special dedication to students, in addition to skiing, golf and traveling. She traveled across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, the Caribbean, Japan, Italy, and Midway Island.

She is survived by two sisters, Amelia Archer of Beverly and Kansas, and Margaret Conley of Peabody; a brother, Louis Picariello of Beverly; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Sabato Joseph Picariello, Frank Picariello and John Pietrini.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly, on Friday, February 14, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell–Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, will be on Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
