Venice, FL — Mr. Bruce Blomster, 82, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Danvers, beloved husband of Theresa (Federico) Blomster, died February 10, 2014, at the Sarasota Medical Center in Sarasota, Florida.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Carl W. and Viola (Johnson) Blomster. He graduated from Lynn Technical High School in 1950 and continued his education at Northeastern University.
Bruce served his country as a member of the United States Navy.
He also worked at Hewlett-Packard Medical Products Division for 33 years where he held many management positions. Bruce retired in 1988, relocated to the west coast of Florida and enjoyed many years of retirement.
A loving and dedicated husband and father, Bruce enjoyed golfing, taking on projects around the house, helping his neighbors and friends, and being a trusted advisor. Yet above all else family was paramount in his life.
In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, Bruce is survived by his three children and their spouses, Diane and David Dunn, Susan and Michael Bettencourt, both of Lynn, and Wayne and Lisa Blomster of Danvers; six grandchildren, Daniel Dunn, Melissa (Dunn) Petrella, Sherri (Blomster) Blais, Kristie Blomster, Erica and Michelle Bettencourt and one great-granddaughter, Lydia Dunn.
He was the twin brother of the late Barbara Draper and brother of the late Alan Blomster.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Route 62), Danvers, Sunday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. We will also follow the service with a celebration of his life at the Danversport Yacht Club.
