Ipswich, MA — Elizabeth Mae “Betty” Belcher, 82, formerly of Ipswich, MA, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014, at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, FL, of esophageal cancer.
Born in Maine, Betty became a Registered Nurse at the Deaconess School of Nursing. She married Bob Belcher in 1952, raised a family and managed the family business in Ipswich for over 45 years before moving to Florida. She worked at Cable Memorial Hospital, was Director of Nursing at Caldwell Nursing Home, a Bay Area Visiting Nurse and a founding member of the Association of Great Neck.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years; her children, Carol Weintraub, Barbara Amundsen and Steven Belcher; sister, Martha Gaudet; brother, James Fenlason; and three grandchildren, Sarah Weintraub, and Harley and Sean Amundsen.
ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of her life will be held in Florida with an interment at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord, MA to take place this spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. An online guest book is available at www.treasurecoastseawinds.com.
