Peabody — Mr. Enrico J. “Rico” Tassinari, 87, of Peabody, formerly of Salem and Marblehead, died on Monday, February 24, 2014, in the Aviv Center for Living, Peabody, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Jeanne D. “Jane” (Levesque) Tassinari.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Branchini) Tassinari. Raised and educated in Marblehead, Rico was a graduate of Marblehead High School.
Rico and Jane resided in Salem for many years raising their family. Rico was a hard working, well-known auto body repairman, and co-owner of Tassinari’s Auto Body in Salem, where he worked until his retirement in 1992. Recently Rico had been residing in Peabody with his stepsons.
A very active and devout parishioner of Ste. Anne’s Church, Rico was their head usher, a member of the Holy Name Society, and diligently worked their annual church bazaar. One of Rico’s passions was crafting, he enjoyed creating his own designs and making gifts for the staff and members of the Peabody Council on Aging Day Program. Enrico had a very outgoing and vibrant personality, and will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Surviving him are two stepsons, Michael Tassinari and his wife, Catherine, and Stephen Tassinari, all of Peabody; a sister, Marietta Lenzi of Florida; three grandchildren, Suzanne Tassinari, Rebecca Tassinari and Jessica Tassinari; and his special dear friend, Stephen Couto. He was also the stepfather of the late Dennis Tassinari, and brother of the late Pfc Benjamin Tassinari, Anita Rice and George Tassinari.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held in Ste. Anne’s Church, Salem, on Saturday, March 1, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to meet at the church, and also attend a collation immediately following Mass in the church hall. Visiting hours will be held in the David H. Gonet Funeral Home, 22 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private. For condolences, please visit www.gonetfuneralhome.com.
