Moody, Maine — Mr. Marvin F. Pocharski, 78, of Moody, Maine, formerly of Salem, died unexpectedly, October 26th, 2013, at York Hospital in Maine.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Louis A. and Estelle E. (Lotarski) Pocharski. Marvin was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of St. John Preparatory School. He continued his education at Boston College where he earned his degree. Marvin was also a graduate of the New England Institute of Anatomy in Boston.
A longtime and prominent Salem Funeral Director, Marvin was the owner and operator of Pocharski Funeral Home in Salem and Cambridge. He followed in the footsteps of his father and continued a tradition of caring for the Polish community with dignity for many years. Marvin was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Salem and a member of the St. John the Baptist Polish Church in Salem.
Marvin was an avid lover of the outdoors and the Maine coast, where he chose to retire. He was dedicated to his family and to the numerous golden retrievers that he had rescued over the years.
Marvin is survived by his two daughters, Judy MacDonald and her husband, Robert, of Eliot, Maine and Leanne Gablinske of Portsmouth, R.I.; his five
grandchildren; his brother, Louis Pocharski and his wife, Nancy, of Marblehead. He was also the twin brother of the late Marilyn Bizzaza of Danvers.
