Peabody MA — Aurore M. Bowden, 87, of Peabody and formerly of Ipswich, died on Sunday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late James F. Bowden and Leo Rouillard.
Born in St. Anslem, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Laurent and Delia (Aubin) Montminy. She was raised and educated in Canada, and in 1946, moved with her family to the United States and has lived throughout the North Shore ever since.
Aurore was employed for 15 years as a bank teller for Security National Bank in Danvers before she retired. In her retirement, she enjoyed wintering in Florida with her husband. She also enjoyed eating out at local restaurants and going for Sunday drives as well.
She is survived by her brothers, Emil, Romeo, Entienne and Michel Montminy, all of Canada, Roland and his wife, Claire Montminy of Peabod; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jeanne Richard, Fernande and Ernest Montminy, Fernande Pouliot, and Germaine La Croix.
ARRANGEMENTS: A visitation will be held on Thursday, from 9:30 to11:15 a.m., at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, followed by services there at 11:15 a.m. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
