Beverly — Corinne A. Hayward, 89, of Beverly, died on Thursday, September 26, at the Ledgewod Rehabilitation Center in Beverly.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Mary J. (Levesque) and Patrick Poitras. Corinne was the widow of the late Howard W. Hayward, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. She was raised and educated in Salem, Mass., and was a graduate of St. Ann's School. For more than 10 years, she worked at Deerskin Trading Post, then became a full-time homemaker. She loved knitting, cooking and playing cards. She looked forward to Saturday night "Franco" with her friends. She was a member of the Franco American Club for many years.
Corinne was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Douglas H., and his longtime partner, Pat Burns of Beverly; and her daughters, Gail A. Donlon and her husband, Richard of Beverly, Sandra L. Waterman and her husband, David, of Raymond, N.H., and Nancy Giakoumis of Lynn. She will be fondly remembered by her seven grandchildren, Jill Davis, Leslie Potter, Kelli Waterman, Nicole Waterman, Jeffry Hayward, Kerry Walker, and Frank Giakoumis; and her five great-grandchildren, Anna and Henry Davis, Brody Potter, Brandon Bump and Adam Walker. Corinne is survived by one sister, Jeanne Lynch. She was predeceased by eight siblings
