Middleton — Mr. Carl W. Foster Sr., 81, of Middleton, beloved husband of Lee (Emerson) Foster, died Tuesday, October 8, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Irving and Lillian (Stewart) Foster. Carl was raised and educated in Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1950.
Mr. Foster was an honorably discharged veteran having served his country in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command during the Korean War.
Mr. Foster had been employed with the Borden Chemical Company in Peabody, UPCO, Rockingham Fireworks Corporation and was CEO of Copper & Copper Inc. “The original recycler.”
A longtime resident of the Town of Middleton, Carl was known as “Big C” and was a dedicated husband, father and family man. He was also a longtime member of the Nazarene Church of Beverly and Danvers.
In addition to his loving wife of 61 years, Carl is survived by his son, Robert Jay Foster and his wife Nancy of Middleton, his daughters, Linda Abate Nunes and her husband Jorge of Beverly and Judith Gnoza and her husband Gregory of Middleton, his daughter-in-law, Patricia Foster of Tewksbury, his grandchildren, Michael Abate and his wife Meaghan, Erin Foster, Rick Nunes and his wife Darlene, Megan and Allyson Gnoza, his great granddaughter, Lily Nunes, his sister, Gertrude Bertucci of Beverly and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Carl W. Foster, Jr. and brother of the late Irving Foster III.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service which will be held in The Danvers Church of the Nazarene, 181 Dayton St., Danvers, Saturday at 1 P.M.
