Beverly — Dr. John A. Rodolico, 86, beloved husband of Rose M. (Tartaro) Rodolico, died Wednesday evening, July 31, 2013, at the Beverly Hospital.
Born and raised in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Gatano and Mary (Corti) Rodolico. He received his education in the Lawrence school system and earned his Medical Degree from the Massachusetts College of Optometry.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy.
Dr. Rodolico practiced Optometry for forty-five years and at the time of his retirement in 1989, he had his practice in Beverly.
A longtime resident of the City of Beverly, he was a member of the Italian Community Center, the Patria e Lavoro Society, past commander of the Vittori Rocci Post and a longtime member of the Elks, all of Beverly.
Dr. Rodolico and his wife enjoyed wintering in West Palm Beach, Fla., where he enjoyed playing Bocci with his friends that affectionately called him “Dead Eye.”
In addition to his wife, with whom he shared sixty-two years of marriage, he is survived by a daughter, Maribeth Linskey and her husband, William; two sons, John T. Rodolico and his wife, Laurie, and Paul M. Rodolico and his wife, Linda, all of Beverly. He was also the loving grandfather of six grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah, Alexa and Taylor Rodolico and Morgan and Drew Linskey. He also leaves his aunt, Connie Pappalardo of Methuen and several cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch St., Beverly, Monday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., North Beverly, Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
