Peabody — Edith (Hutchinson) Jordan, 91, of Peabody, died early Sunday morning, surrounded by her family at her home, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Dana Jordan.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late George and Mildred (Chaput) Hutchinson. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody, and a graduate of Peabody High School.
Edith enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, doing jigsaw puzzles, going to yard sales, bowling, and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed feeding the birds in her backyard, and was always known by others as wearing decorative pins. She most enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all.
Edith is survived by her son, Edward Jordan of Texas; her daughter, Barbara Jagla and her life partner, Keith Young of North Reading; her brother-in-law, David Jordan of Florida; her beloved grandchildren, Lauren Jagla of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Barbara Lynn of Texas; her stepgrandchildren, Samantha, Kyle, and Bryan Young, all of Tewksbury; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Following cremation, a family graveside memorial will be scheduled at the family plot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield, in October.
