Stefana (Ingemi) (Rosati) Azzolina, 96

Lynnfield — Stefana (Ingemi) (Rosati) Azzolina, age 96, wife of the late Dante Rosati and the late Salvatore Azzolina, died Tuesday evening, August 13, 2013, at the Sunrise Assisted Living in Lynnfield. Born in Salem, Mrs. Azzolina was the daughter of the late Stefano and Josephine (Tomasso) Ingemi. She was raised in Salem and attended Salem Public Schools. She had lived in Salem until her marriage to Dante Rosati, after their marriage they moved to the City of Boston. Prior to living in Lynnfield, she had resided in Peabody.

Mrs. Azzolina started her working career at Sylvania in Salem. She continued her career in Boston where she owned and operated Danny’s Italian Bakery and Grocery Store with her husband until 1957. At this time, she returned to Salem and worked with her family at Steve’s Quality Market until her retirement.

Mrs. Azzolina was involved in many organizations and most especially was her involvement with the Peabody Council on Aging, helping as the manager of the sewing department. She had a passion for dancing and traveling and enjoyed knitting and crocheting, sharing all of her beautiful work with her family.

Mrs. Azzolina enjoyed her cat, Sally, who gave her great comfort and company following the passing of her husband, Salvatore. She was very devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they were the sunshine of her life.

Surviving her are her two children, Anthony Rosati and his wife, Cecilia, and Marie Pizzuti and her husband, Don, all of Lynnfield; one brother, Steve Ingemi of Salem; one sister, Messina Amenta of Florida; her grandchildren, Stephanie Perakis and her husband, John, Anthony Rosati and his wife, Colleen, Ann Marie Lavoie and her husband, Gary, Brian Rosati and his wife, Maria, Donna Brodigan and her husband, Joe, Tina Brzezenski and her husband, John, Laura Gamache and her husband, Dan, Linda Henry and her husband, John; 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also the sister of the late Domenic, Joseph and John Ingemi, Mary Scialdoni and Jennie Femino.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (corner of North St.), Salem on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St., Peabody at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
