Salem — Laurie died on September 3, 2012, of breast cancer, at the Kaplan House in Danvers.
Born in Lynn, to Earl and Peg Mansfield (deceased), she graduated from Lynn Classical and earned a degree from Clark University. Laurie made her home in Salem.
She was an ardent musicologist and historian with interests in ancient, British and local history. She was a valued volunteer for the Salem Maritime National Park and was highly regarded within the Salem community for her generosity, knowledge and quick humor.
She is survived by her brother Joe Mansfield of Arlington, and her sister Mary Ann Berman of Lynn.
