Helen V. Lonergan, 92


Danvers — Helen V. (Fleming) Lonergan, 92, of Danvers passed away September 30, 2012, at a health care center in Minnesota. She was the wife of the late Thomas Lonergan.

Born in Peabody in 1919, Helen was raised there and went on to work at Shetland Industrial and Brooks Market. She was a well known seamstress who made beautiful wedding gowns and assisted in making uniforms for professional sports teams in Boston. Helen moved to Minnesota three years ago with family. Prior to that, she resided in Danvers. She was active with Catholic Daughters, Our Lady's Sodality and many church activities. She was the daughter of Hugh and Mary (O'Hara) Fleming.

She leaves her children, Mary Ellen Corliss of Bradford, Eileen Lonergan of Peabody, Thomas of Minnesota, Robert of Danvers and Daniel Lonergan of Minnesota. Also leaving 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass for Helen will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 9, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Conant St., Danvers. As requested, there are no visiting hours. Assisting the family is the Mackey Funeral Home. Please see www.mackeyfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence.
