David M. Cheney, 22


Beverly — David M. Cheney, 22, died tragically in an accident in Owls Head, Maine, on Friday, November 16, 2012. Born in Salem, he is the son of Michael and Janice (Cleveland) Cheney of Beverly.

Dave grew up in Beverly and is a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 2009. He was currently in his senior year at the University of Maine, Orono. He was a member and president of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Dave was a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, snowmobiling, lacrosse, and spending time with his friends and family. He also enjoyed spending time at his family’s lake house on Sebec Lake, Maine. Dave was very involved in his college community and donated blood whenever he could. He was a warm and genuine young man, with a kind heart and wisdom beyond his years. He will truly be missed by all.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters: Cassie and Erin Cheney, both of Beverly; paternal grandmother Betty Barnes of Pensacola, FL; aunt Karen and her husband Ken LaTona of Granby, CT; uncle Lee and his wife Debbie Cleveland of Framingham, and uncle Bob Howlett of Pensacola, FL; many cousins, friends, and two beloved dogs: Molly and Carly. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather: Robert Cheney Sr., maternal grandparents Willard and Joyce Cleveland; aunt Cheryl Howlett and uncle Robert Cheney Jr.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly Location), on Wednesday, November 28, from 4 to 8 P.M. A private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the David Cheney Scholarship Fund.
