Peabody — Mr. Arthur E. Rogers, 81, of Peabody, beloved husband of Beryl (Beaupre) Rogers of Peabody and the late Betty Lou Callahan, died Tuesday December 11th, 2012, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by his family.
Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Anthony A. and Julia (Ventura) Rogers. He was raised and educated in Wilmington. Mr. Rogers had been a resident of Peabody for over twenty years.
With an entrepreneurial spirit and courage, Arthur founded the former Ser-Vis Cleaners in Beverly. Through his hard work and business acumen he was able to build a prosperous business and a large dedicated clientele.
Known for his ability to connect with people, Arthur will be remembered for his kind and loving heart.
In addition to his loving wife, Arthur is survived by his daughter, Jean Rogers of Lynn, his sons, Arthur A. Rogers of Florida, John Rogers of Medford and James Rogers of Chelmsford, his step-children, Richard Markee of Attleboro, Susan Mah of Lynn, David Markee of Lynn and Kathleen Zalenski of Lakeville, his 21 grandchildren & step-grandchildren, his many great-grandchildren, his brother, James Rogers of Burlington and several nieces and nephews. He was the step-father of the late John Markee and brother of the late Mary, Margaret and Theresa.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held in The O’Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Square (at Salem Common), Salem, Thursday, Dec., 13th, from 10 A.M. to noon. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:15 P.M. At the conclusion of the service, internment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
