SALEM — Mrs. Mary E. (Lee) McCarthy 98, of Salem, beloved wife of the late George McCarthy died Thursday, November 22, 2012, at the Hunt Nursing Home in Danvers.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Francis A. and Ethel M. (Fellows) Lee. She was raised and educated in Salem. She received her early childhood education at the former St. Mary’s Grammar School in Salem and attended Salem High School.
At the age of 16, Mrs. McCarthy began her professional career with Sylvania. Following sixteen years working at Sylvania she became associated with Sawtell Stationary Store in Salem. At the time of her retirement in 1986, she had been employed at the former Empire Clothing store in Salem.
Mrs. McCarthy had been a longtime dedicated communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Salem. She was a loving mother and sister who will be deeply missed.
Mary is survived by her daughter Jane L. McCarthy of Danvers, her sisters, Joanne Malionek of Salem and Nancy Rybicki of Salem, her brothers, James Gordon Lee of Beverly and John Lee of Salem and several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was the sister of the late Patricia Myslinski and Arthur Lee, Everett Lee, Daniel Lee and Robert Lee.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass which will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, Saturday (TODAY) at 10 A.M.
