BEVERLY — Robert Warren Drinkwater, 81, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, following a courageous battle with dementia.
Bob was born in Beverly, Mass., on October 16, 1932, son of the late George and Anna (Lawler) Drinkwater. He was raised in Beverly Farms and graduated from Beverly High School in 1950.
Bob was a heavy equipment operator for over 50 years with R.W. Drinkwater Construction. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was very patriotic and loved his motorcycles and dancing. He will always be remembered for his ability to whistle loud and proud no matter where he was.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (Franklin) Drinkwater; his four children whom he shared with his beloved late wife Jean Marie (Durgin) Drinkwater of 42 years, Debra Allen and her husband, John, James Drinkwater and his wife, Paula, Cindy Bateman and her husband John; and Tamie Panunzio and her husband Steve, all of Beverly; his grandchildren, Rachel and Matt Allen, Paul, David, and Khrystal Drinkwater, John Bateman, and Robert, Lindsey, and Jenna Panunzio; his stepdaughters, Peggy Marcelonis, Nance Hamze, and Julie Franklin; and his brothers, Ralph and Peter Drinkwater. Bob was the brother of his late siblings Virginia, Susie, Dorothy, George, John and Barbara.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Service will be celebrated at Saint Margaret’s Parish, 672 Hale Street, Beverly Farms, on Saturday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
