Wenham — Charlotte Marquis, 94, of Wenham and Sarasota, Fla., passed away peacefully at Seacoast Nursing Home on December 26, 2013. Born in Beverly, she was a graduate of Salem High School and Salem Commercial School. She was a member of Salem Country Club for many years, and also volunteered at the Wenham Tea House.
Charlotte loved bridge and played in many different bridge groups on the North Shore and in Florida; wherever she could find a friendly table. She was a terrific cook, but her specialty was baking — there wasn’t anything she couldn’t bake, and all from “scratch!”
She was predeceased by her husband, Leo Marquis in 1994.
She is survived by her son, Alan and his wife, Klara Marquis of Wenham, and her daughter, Michelle Marquis of Sarasota, Fla.; her grandsons, Andrew and his wife, Iris Marquis and their daughter, Stella Rose, and Michael and his wife, Natalie Marquis. She is further survived by her sister, Mildred Fullam, and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly on Thursday, Jan. 2, at noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may visit with her family prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon.
