Margaret R. D'Amato, 91

Beverly — Mrs. Margaret R. D'Amato, 91, beloved wife of the late Pasquale J. D'Amato, passed away on Sunday, at her daughter's home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Pacific T. and Catherine E. (Green) Moise. In addition to raising her family, Mrs. D'Amato worked for many years for Sylvania and retired in 1985. Since then, she had met her co-workers for breakfast every Wednesday morning. An avid reader, she also enjoyed books on tape. As the matriarch of her large family, she set a great example for them and formed a lasting influence, especially for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nothing brought her more joy than time spent together. An independent and determined woman, she also had an adventurous side and enjoyed trying new things. She will be remembered as a "true lady," graceful and proper in every way.

She is survived by her son, Peter D'Amato and his wife, Judith, of Ocala, Fla.; her daughters, Margaret Thibodeau and her husband, Alfred, of Beverly, and Patricia Peverada and her husband, Richard, of Beverly; and her sister, Mary Brennan of Peabody. She was the cherished grandmother of Peter D'Amato Jr. and the late Laura Marie D’Amato, Lisa and Fred Cuzner, Michael and Leslie Thibodeau, Robin and Jay Hennessey, Michael and Erika Croteau, and Kimberley and Todd Klibansky; and loving great-grandmother of Bradlee and Cody, Lily and Hannah, Connor, Nate and Lucas, Simone, Nate and Nina, and Kelsey and Katherine. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Moise; and sisters, Irene Comora and Catherine Moise.
