Mabel L. Selin, 89


Beverly — Mabel L. (Langley) Selin, 89, beloved wife of 63 years to the late Arvid E. Selin, died Sunday, March 9, 2014. Born and raised in Marblehead, she was the daughter of the late Harris and Margaret (Burns) Langley. She received her education in the Marblehead school system and graduated from Beverly High School, following graduation she started working for Beverly Savings Bank. After marrying Arvid, a returning Navy veteran, she began her job of all jobs - raising their five boys. She returned to work, as a sales clerk at the former Almy’s Department Store, where she retired.

A longtime resident of the City of Beverly, she was a member of The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mabel enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, the beach and conversation. She will be missed by many. She was the beloved mother of five sons, Bruce Selin, Richard Selin, Paul Selin, Dana Selin and Mark Selin, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Beverly, Monday, March 17, 2014, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in the Central Cemetery, Beverly. As requested there will be no visiting hours. Arrangements by the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly.
