PEABODY — William Brian Canney, 60, of Peabody, MA, passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Bill was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Doron) and the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Perry) Canney.
Bill was born in Salem, MA. He attended Salem High School and was a graduate of North Shore Community College. Bill was employed by General Electric for over 39 years. He was a graduate of the GE Apprentice Program and held numerous roles throughout his time at GE, most recently as a Process Engineer in the Lynn plant. An avid golfer, Bill enjoyed spending Sundays competing in the Bertini’s Golf League. Although the first place trophy forever eluded him, his sons have carried on the Canney golf tradition. Even though Bill had a lot of varied interests such as traveling and socializing with friends and family, his greatest joy was spending time with his wife and children, laughing and teaching his kids life lessons.
