Catherine "Gloria" O'Leary


Merrimack, NH — Mrs. Catherine “Gloria” (Dupper) O’Leary, age 88, of Merrimack, NH, died Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Dr. Eugene O’Leary, Jr. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Earl Andrew and Catherine (O’Donnell) Dupper. She had lived in Lynn and Saugus before moving to Peabody in 1963. She resided in Merrimack, NH for the past 15 years.

A homemaker and avid gardener, she shared a passion for rose gardening with her late husband. They took pride in having one of the finest rose gardens in New England. They exhibited roses for many years and won many awards. In June 1990, Good Morning America did a live remote broadcast from their rose garden. In addition to gardening, Gloria also enjoyed architecture and impressionist painting.

She is survived by her son, Paul O’Leary and his wife, Deborah, of Nashua; two granddaughters, Maureen O’Leary and Dr. Kathleen O’Leary; her sister, Ann Schoener; as well as several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn.
