Jane Lawrence Ronan

New London, CT — Jane Lawrence Ronan, of New London, Conn., died on May 7, 2013, at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.

She was born on January 26, 1933, in Salem, Mass., the only child of William J. Ronan and Helen M. Lawrence Ronan.

She was formerly employed as a recreation director at Nutmeg Pavilion. Jane attended local Salem schools, graduating from Sainte Chretienne Academy in 1950. She continued her education at Emmanuel College in Boston, Mass., graduating in 1954 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

After raising her six children, Jane chose to pursue a life long dream of travel. She traveled the world, with Italy being her favorite destination. She exhibited great pride in sharing her pictures and stories of what she would call her "adventures." Jane was a passionate patron of the arts, attending numerous museums and concerts whenever she could. She thoroughly enjoyed her affiliation with the Lyman Allyn as a docent. She was also proud of her involvement with Child and Family Services of Southeastern Connecticut, volunteering at its Annual Auction and Fundraiser.

Jane had a great love of Guthrie Beach, which she shared with family and friends. She would say that nothing was better then a swim to the raft to relieve the stress of the day.

Flynn of New London, Christopher Flynn and his wife, Pamela, of N.
