Peabody — Janice E. (Flynn) Delaney, age 62, wife of the late John J. Delaney, died Sunday morning, May 12, 2013, at North Shore Medical Center, Salem Hospital. Born in Salem, Janice was the daughter of the late James E. and Eileen (Dolan) Flynn. She was raised in Salem and had attended St. James School, graduating from Salem High School in the class of 1969. Following graduation, Janice was employed with L.H. Rogers in Salem. She continued her employment as a receptionist at the Hilton Hotel at the Boston Airport, where she met her husband, John, who was working in security.
Following her marriage, the Delaney’s moved to Winthrop where they raised their family. She was employed with Sound Systems Video in Winthrop for 15 years, then became a stay-at-home Mom and continued to work part-time. Mrs. Delaney loved her family, her two dogs, and adored her grandson, Luke.
Surviving her are her daughter, Janice Allinson and her husband, Mark, of North Andover; her brothers, James “Jim” Flynn and his wife, Jeanne, of Peabody, Paul Flynn and his wife, Kathleen, of Georgetown; and her grandson, Luke Allinson of North Andover.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours for Mrs. Delaney will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (corner of North Street), Salem, on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service starting at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
