Clearwater, Fl — Florence "Flo" Y. Desrochers, age 86, formerly of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Clearwater, Fla.
Born June 11, 1926, in Peabody, Mass., to Raymond L. and Josephine Pender York. Flo married Ernie Desrochers on September 24, 1979, in the city of Beverly, Mass. They traveled the world on cruise ships, teaching arts and crafts. They traveled extensively through out the United States with their RV and with senior groups. Their last trip was in 2004 to Costa Rica with their church in order to help build a school and church. They had 32 years of laughter and love together.
Flo worked with the Linus Group making blankets, angel wings, and quilts for veterans and premature babies. She was always quick with a hug or a kind word.
Flo was predeceased by her husband, Ernie Desrochers; daughters, Claudia Holloway and Rhonda Holloway; brothers, Clifton York and Douglas York; and sister, Hilda York. She is survived by her sister, Taffy Pope; a brother, Leonard York; her nieces, Holly Pope and Barbara Hoppman; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
