Earl A. Doane Sr.


Peabody — Mr. Earl A. Doane, Sr. of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died Wednesday morning in Salem Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Lynn, Earl was the son of the late Hartley and Sadie (Hanley) Doane. He lived in Lynn for most of his life and after his retirement, he resided in Peabody where he lived for the last 24 years.

Prior to his retirement, Earl worked for over 40 years as a die-cutter for United Die Corp. in Danvers.

He enjoyed watching football and attending family cookouts. He lived to eat but above all, he loved his children.

He leaves his daughters, Debra Kent and her late husband Wesley of Salem, Linda Doane-Furey and her husband Donald Jr. of Peabody, Patricia Doane-Cesario of Stoneham, and Jerriann Doane of Peabody. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Earl A. “Dee Dee” Doane Jr. and Gary Doane and was also predeceased by his seven brothers and sisters.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Visitation will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Friday from noon to 1 p.m., followed by a Funeral Procession and burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
