Beverly — Mr. Frank P. Gaudenzi, 84, died on Saturday at Beverly Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Francesco and Anne (Gianecola) Gaudenzi. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Chepetsky) Gaudenzi for 60 years.
Frank was a lifelong parishioner and lecturer at St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish. An honorably discharged veteran, he served in the US Army during WWII. Upon returning home he worked as a sports writer for the Beverly Citizen and for many years as a salesman for various companies. He also co-founded Gaudenzi & Sons General Contractors, from where he retired.
Frank was active with the Beverly Lions Club where he served as president and enjoyed discussing the Red Sox, politics, and even the stock market. He will be remembered as a man who had a genuine interest in his family’s well-being and always put their needs above his own.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by sons, Vincent P. Gaudenzi and wife, Alice, of Wenham, Paul Gaudenzi and wife, Natalie, of Beverly; daughter, Pamela A. Unger and husband, Mark, of Georgetown; his sisters, Alice Costello of Maryland and Pauline Perrone of Salem; grandchildren, Matthew J. Ota, Vincent J. Gaudenzi, Natalie Conlon, Jason Gaudenzi, Keith Gaudenzi, Terri Whitaker, Mark Unger, Jr., Katie Unger and Max Gaudenzi; and great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Ella and Vincent Gaudenzi. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joyce M. Gaudenzi Ota, and sisters, Margaret Fabri and Ann Andreas.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Services will be held at the Campbell - Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., North Beverly, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
