Danvers and Peabody — Angelo Karambelas 34, of Danvers and formerly of Peabody, died Saturday evening at the Brigham Woman's Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Leonice (Galvao) Karambelas and loving father to Nikolaos Neto Karambelas.
Born in Salem, he was the son of Nikolaos and Paula (Skouras) Karambelas of Peabody. He grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. He lived in Danvers for the past five years.
Angelo was first employed at the family business, Giovanni's in Peabody, and went on to be a part-owner at Giovanni's in Woburn before becoming the owner of Nik's Giovanni's in Danvers with his wife, Leonice.
Angelo enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to music and was working towards a degree in electronics at ITT Technical Institute.
Besides his wife, son and parents, Angelo is survived by his maternal grandparents, Syrmatis and Chris Skouras of Peabody; his paternal grandmother, Victoria Karambelas of Greece; his sister, Victoria Gately of Woburn; and his two nieces, Alexandria and Alaina Toula Gately. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Izabel de Souza, and father-in-law, Natalicios Galvao, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. with a Brazilian Service from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His Funeral will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, followed by Services at 10 a.m. at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Paleologos Street, Peabody.
