Thornton, NH — It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willard A. Flagg III, 59, of Thornton, N.H., who was born on June 1, 1954. A man of faith, he will always be remembered for his enthusiasm for country, brilliance in technology, and above all, love for his ever-growing family.
Will is survived by his partner, Dianna Lannon; and his children, Nicole, her husband, Tim, and their sons Benjamin, Nicholas and Jonathan, and Suzanne, Danielle, and Derek. He is also survived by his parents, Bill and Betty Flagg of Topsfield, Mass.; and his siblings, Gwen and her husband, Marty, Diane and her husband, Don, and David and his partner, Debbi; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife, Madeline Flagg.
He grew up in Topsfield, Mass., and graduated from Masconomet Regional High School in June 1972. He chose the "Live Free or Die" state to raise his family, sharing in the joys of camping, canoeing, and a roaring fire. He was a longtime software engineer, who specialized in small robotics, and was an outdoors enthusiast who loved hiking and mountain climbing. Having recently moved to Thornton, Will looked forward to truly living in the great outdoors. He was active in several hiking groups, including the New England Over 40 Hiking Group. He had a vigor for life unmatched by most, and always dreamed of the "next big climb" alongside his partner and their loyal dog, Brady.
