Benjamin Greenlay Jr., 57


Gloucester — Born to Benjamin John Hilton Greenlay Sr. (a Navy Seal) and his wife Mary (Lynch) Greenlay. He was a retired boilermaker who had a passion for riding his Harley and living life, and a friend of Bill W.

He is survived by his son, Elliot Micah Greenlay of Chicago, Ill.: his sisters, Kathy Ward of Ipswich, Mary Ellen Sutton and her husband, Charles of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Jeanne Botelho of Salem, N.H., Marcia Ernst and her husband, William of Allentown, Pa., Joan Quittner and her husband, Allen of Starksboro, Vt.; his brother, Donald Greenlay and wife, Christine of Oswego, N.Y.; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ben was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Laurie Hardin; and brother, Daniel Gendron. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Jamelia McCurdy, and his faithful friend, Kris Young of Gloucester.
