James P. Dording, 82, of Danvers died Thursday February 23, 2012.
James was born in Dow City, Iowa, raised in Chicago and resided in Danvers for forty-seven years.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, James proudly served his country as Engineering Officer on the Destroyer DDS Vogelgesang during the Korean Conflict.
His thirty-five year career as an engineer was spent at G.E. in Lynn, in the Commercial engine program.
A gentle man of simple tastes; he loved the important things in life — his family, his faith, his country.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 am In St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Danvers. Visitation to be held prior In the Mackey Funeral Home from 8:45 am to 10:45 am. Burial will be private. In Lieu of memorial flowers the family would prefer donations in James’ name to Xaverian House at Campus St. John’s Prep, 50 Spring St. Danvers Ma 01923 or to the Discalced Carmelite Nuns of Danvers, 15 Mount Carmel Road, Danvers MA 01923.
