Peabody — Mr. Lawrence H. “Larry” May, 71 years, died unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday. April 2, 2013. Larry was the husband of Mrs. Dalena (Armitage) May.

He was born in Lynn, the son of the late Harold and Madeline (Sweeney) May. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He made his home in Peabody for the past 37 years.

Larry was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 70 in Lynn. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, and attending his grandchildren’s events. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Larry was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. Larry was employed for 51 years at the General Electric Company's Riverworks plant in Lynn. He retired in December 2011.

In addition to his wife, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage, he leaves his daughter, Cristy French and her husband, Thomas, of Peabody; his grandchildren, Katie, Ashley and Matthew French; his niece, Linda Baldini and her husband, Richard, of Nahant; and his great-nephews and niece, Michael, Jennifer and Jeffrey Baldini. He was the brother of the late Marilyn Thomas.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. from the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean Street (Route 1A), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, West Peabody, at 10 a.m. Burial in Swampscott Cemetery, Swampscott.
