Centerville, MA — Al J. Menesale passed away on December 23, 2012, peacefully at home after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of the late Domenic and Ida (Amore) Menesale.
Al graduated from Beverly High School in 1958 where he played football and basketball.
He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Salem State College, where he met his beloved wife of 48 years, Patricia (McNaught).
Al began his career as a teacher in Danvers in 1964, and later became an elementary school principal in Danvers and Marblehead, MA.
In 1977 he accepted a principal's position in Barnstable. His first assignment was at the Hyannis Elementary School, where he stayed for 11 years. Next, he became the founding principal of Marston Mills East Elementary School until his retirement 11 years later.
Al enjoyed many vacations with his family and friends. He enjoyed mountain climbing, hiking, travel and sports. His greatest enjoyment was time spent with his 9 grandchildren.
