Beverly — Marie White, wife of the late, E. Frederick White and long time Hamilton resident, passed away peacefully last Thursday night at the age of 96. Mrs. White grew up in Beverly as one of six children of Herbert and Catherine Martin. She was an avid bridge player and a regular at West Beach in Beverly for many years.
Along with her husband, Fred, she was actively involved with the children of her siblings, Gertrude (Guinivan), Ann (Barry), Helen (Broderick), Kaye (Wiseman) and Herbert "Buzz" Martin, and was famous for her lobster bakes in her back yard in Hamilton. With a keen eye for art, during the 1960's she and her sisters closely followed the artists of Rocky Neck and accumulated a collection of paintings focused on the works of Emile Gruppe.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Ann Dione, Paul, John and Jane Guinivan, Tom and John Martin, Sheila Keating, Nancy Ormiston and Michael Wiseman.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location) Thursday, January 17, 2013, at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may pay their respects prior to the service on Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
