Daniel J. Bouffard, 85

Peabody — Mr. Daniel J. Bouffard, 85, of Peabody, beloved husband of Madeline (Brissette) Bouffard, died January 16th, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family, following a long illness.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Alfred and Bertha (Gagne) Bouffard. He was raised and educated in Salem and attended the former St. Joseph School in Salem.

Mr. Bouffard had been employed at the former A.C. Lawrence Leather Company for many years. More recently he had been employed as the custodian at St. Ann’s Church in South Peabody until the time of his retirement.

A longtime member of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody, Dan was a member of the Leather Workers Union and was a longtime active member of the Torigian Senior Center in Peabody. He dedicated much of his time to his fellow seniors making the activities enjoyable for all, especially Bingo. An avid bowler, a dedicated Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, Daniel was a fun-loving individual, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his loving wife of 63 years, Dan is survived by his daughters, Mary Ellen Sahlin and her husband Rick of Raymond, N.H., and Susan Sliney and her husband Michael of Middleton, his son, Daniel Bouffard of Loudon, N.H., his ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, his brother Ernest Bouffard of Parson, CA, and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Noel Bouffard and brother of the late Alfred, Ted and Bob Bouffard.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be held in St. Agnes Church, Boston St., Middleton, Saturday, January 19th, 2013, at 1 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private. Visiting hours in The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Square (at Salem Common), Salem, Friday from 3 to 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Dan’s memory to the Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923, or to the Friends of the Peabody Council on Aging, 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960.     Lynn, MA — Earline (Cheever) Faneuf, age 89, of Lynn, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Faneuf. Born in Lynn, she spent most of her childhood in the Bronx, and she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Quinn) Cheever. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the shoe factory and several local nursing homes. Earline loved her family and was an avid knitter and enjoyed crocheting and bingo. She is survived by her children, Dianne Forbes of Peabody, Janice and Jeffrey Kaplan of Peabody, James Faneuf of Lynn and Joanne and Bruce Caron of Lynn; her grandchildren, Christopher Bettencourt, Jason Bettencourt, the late Brandon Bettencourt, Tyler Kaplan, Michael Caron, Stephen Caron and Jonathan Caron; great-grandchildren, Sara Mangiafico, Arianna Kaplan, Jackson Kaplan, Aliana Caron and Alex Caron; her Aunt Shirley Lebrasseur and cousin, Sharon Forand, both of Lynn, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald Cheever and Joseph Cheever.

She was born in, Povoa Da Rainha, Portugal, on October 14, 1929, the daughter of the late Angelino Gomes and Patrocinia d’Abrantes (Nogueira) Coelho, and was raised and resided there before emigrating to Peabody in 1957.

    Salem — Rene A. Ouellette, 92, husband of the late Margaret (Jackson) Ouellette and the late Rosalie (Barbarino) Getchell-Ouellette, died on July 27, 2014, at Canton Nursing Center, Canton, Ga., following a brief illness. Born in Salem, Mass., he was the son of the late Alfred and Blanche (Berube) Ouellette. He was raised and educated in Salem schools. During World War II, Mr Ouellette proudly served in the United States Army in several battles, including D-Day. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his service to country. Following his discharge, he worked at the United States Post Office in Lynn, Mass., where he was employed for 25 years as a postal clerk, until his retirement.

    Middleton — Marion Gershaw, 63 years, of Middleton, formerly of Lynn, passed away suddenly Saturday evening, July 19th at Salem Hospital, while surrounded by friends and family. She was the beloved wife of Robert Gershaw, together 47 years, and daughter of Hilda and Harry Azer. She was employed as a medical transcriptionist for over 30 years before retiring several years ago. She regularly attended the book club at the Flint Library and played Scrabble at the Danvers Library. She was a devoted reader of books and the news, a talented artist, and in her youth she loved to sail. She is survived by her two loving children, Alex and Sarah Gershaw; her beloved brother, Paul Azer and her aunt and uncle, Barbara and Jack Smuckler. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School, majored in Psychology at Boston University, received Bachelors in Social Work at Salem State, Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from Northeast University, and was an honorable mention as a National Merit Scholar.

After her marriage, she and her husband had resided in Arlington, Mass. and Hamden, Conn., before moving to Peabody 48 years ago. She had worked in her earlier years as a comptometer for First National Stores in Somerville. Mary loved to cook and the family enjoyed her famous clam dip. She also traveled with her husband and enjoyed playing Bridge and other card games. In her healthier years, she was a devout communicant of St. Ann’s Church.
