Ann M. (McCarthy) Wilcox, 76


Peabody and Topsfield — Ann M. (McCarthy) Wilcox, 76, beloved wife of the late John H. Wilcox, died early Tuesday morning at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home in Peabody, after a long illness.

Ann was born on April 7, 1936, in Peabody and was the daughter of the late Timothy and Alice (Healy) McCarthy. She grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1953. After high school, she continued on and graduated from Burdett Business School.

She worked for a period of time at the Peabody Housing Authority and at the former United Shoe Machinery in Beverly. Upon her marriage, Ann and John moved to Topsfield where she lived until her illness.

Ann was well spoken and always enjoyed a good “conversation” about politics or the Red Sox. Ann had a lifetime joy of dancing and always enjoyed spending time with family, she will be lovingly remembered.

Ann is survived by her brother John McCarthy and his wife Virginia and their children, Kathleen, Maureen, Brian, Colleen and Stephen as well as many other nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her sister Alice Linehan and her brothers, Timothy and David McCarthy.

ARRANGEMENTS: Ann’s Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 until 11 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
