Danvers — Bruce E. Maurice, 59, of Danvers, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, January 24, 2013. He was the husband of Heather (Jones) Maurice.
Born in Salem in 1953, Bruce was the son of the late Harold and Frances (Burkinshaw) Maurice. Bruce graduated from Salem High School and later from Suffolk University. He was the owner of Maurice Real Estate of Danvers.
Mr. Maurice was a past president of both the Danvers Rotary Club and the Danvers Touchdown Club. He was involved with many charitable organizations including Globe Santa and Boston Veterans Association.
Bruce enjoyed reading, walking, golfing, traveling and being a Boston sports fan. Bruce mostly enjoyed spending time in and working around his yard, and with his family.
Besides his wife Heather, he leaves a daughter Kelly O'Dea and her partner Eric McLaughlin and his daughters, Ariel and Julia of Haverhill; his mother in-law Helen Jones of Vermont; sister in-law Teresa Jones and her partner Don Parsons of Maine; a brother in-law Robert Jones and his wife Melissa and their children, Emily and Ryan of R.I.; his sisters, Ann-Marie Nikakis and her husband Nick of Idaho, Barbara Collins and her husband Gary of Danvers, Janice Johnson and her husband Bill of Salem, Laurie Mann and her husband Doug of N.Y., Michelle Felton and her husband William of Salem; his brothers, Brian Maurice and his wife Mary of Haverhill, David Maurice of Salem and the late Harold Maurice. Bruce was the former husband of Kay Maurice of Danvers. Also leaving his nieces,nephews and many, many dear friends. He will be missed by all.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Monday, from 4-8 p.m., in the Mackey Funeral Home, 22 Conant St., Danvers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Bruce on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Richard Parish, Danvers, Burial will be private.
