STOCKTON SPRINGS, MAINE — Suzanne P. (LaMontagne) Matsubara, 64, of Stockton Springs, Maine, formerly of Salem, beloved wife of Ramon (Ray) Matsubara, (formerly of Danvers) passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2012 at the Penobscot Nursing Home in Maine, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Salem on February 16, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Rosaire D. and Therese G. (Beaulieu) LaMontagne. She attended the former St. Joseph’s Grammar School and graduated from the former St. Joseph’s Academy in 1966. She attended the School of Modern Fashion and Design in Boston and enjoyed many years of creating beautiful arts and craft articles for State Fairs and for her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years; their daughter, Rebecca A. DeGeorge, her husband David and their son Carter of Ashland; two step-sons, Nathan Matsubara and his wife Janet and their three children of Burlington and David Matsubara of Newburyport and his two daughters; her sister, Therese Stepenuck and her husband Stephen of West Swanzey, N.H.; her brothers George LaMontagne of South Hamilton and Roger LaMontagne and his wife Patricia of Salem and her sister-in-law Diane LaMontagne of Salem. She is also survived by two aunts, Mrs. Betty Robinson and Mrs. Annette (Tibi) Gagnon both of Salem and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends. In addition to her parents, her brother Paul LaMontagne and several aunts, uncles and cousins pre-deceased her.
The family wishes to extend their profound thanks to the staff at the Penobscot Nursing Home where Sue was professionally and lovingly cared for this past year.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple Street, (Rte. 62) Danvers, on Wednesday, September 19th from 5 to 7 P.M. With a service to be held at 7 P.M. Private burial will be held at a later date.
