Mr. Eric G. Thomas, 58, husband of Lisa A. (Sweeney) Thomas, died Monday, February 6, 2012.
Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of Bertram Thomas of Beverly and the late Dorothy (Whitaker) Thomas. He graduated from Beverly High School and continued his education at East Coast Aero Tech.
Mr. Thomas had been employed for thirty seven years at the General Electric Company in its Aircraft Division in Lynn until the time of his retirement in 2010. He was recently working at the Church in the Cove in Beverly where he helped out around the church wherever he was needed.
A lifelong resident of the City of Beverly, Eric was an avid sports fan, especially the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared thirty two years of marriage, he is survived by two daughters, Sarah M. and her fiancé, Thomas Milaschewski and Amy B. Thomas all of Beverly, a grandson, T.J. Nicolau, two sisters, Tina Young of Salem and Wendy Thomas and her fiancé, Jack Harrington of Marshfield, four brothers, twin brother Mark G. Thomas of Danvers, Gary Thomas and his wife, Mary of Beverly, Brian Thomas and his loving partner Ginny Ouellette of Salem and Wayne Thomas and his wife, Chris of Beverly, his mother-in-law, Alice Remare of Beverly, his father-in-law, Gordon Sweeney of Ipswich and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and brothers and sisters-in-law.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held at the Church in the Cove, 167 Hale St., Beverly, Friday, February 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location) Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Eric’s memory to the Church in the Cove, 167 Hale St., Beverly, MA 01915.
