He was the trailblazer of the family, the first-born who led the way for his younger siblings. Elmer was predeceased by brother Robert and sisters Virginia (Hanley) and Betty. He is survived by brothers William of Beverly and Charles of Michigan, and sister Pauline (Carnevale) Georgandis of Beverly and her children; Ronald, Richard, David and Diane Carnevale. He was an inspiration to many of his nieces and nephews and was in many ways, the patriarch of the extended Hatch family.

ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of life will be held at his daughter Betsy’s home, 138 Ipswich Road, Boxford on Saturday, November 3, from 1-5 p.m., where toasting, merriment and jollification will be encouraged, and stories, photographs, and hugs will be shared.
