Mr. John J. Kirrane Jr., 88, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the Hunt Nursing and Retirement Home in Danvers.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late John J. Sr. and Gladys (LeGro) Kirrane. He was raised in Beverly and graduated from Beverly High School.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy.
Mr. Kirrane had been employed for many years as an airplane mechanic for the former National Airlines and Pan Am Airlines until the time of his retirement.
He is survived by a sister, Grace Kirrane Orner of Beverly; two brothers, Walter Porter Kirrane of Beverly and Philip Mark Kirrane and his wife, Shirley of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late June Ann Kirrane.
