Danvers — Russell Charles Musgrave, Jr., 77, of Danvers, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, in Burlington. He was the son of Flora (Turgeon) Musgrave and the late Russell C. Musgrave Sr.
Russell was born at his parents' home in Lynn in 1935. He received his education at Fernald State School and later at Templeton Colony. In 1980, Russell returned to the North Shore where he spent the rest of his life, living first in Peabody and later in Danvers since 2006. He worked in the light manufacturing industry and was a longtime employee of both Heritage Industries and Bass River, Inc. Russell was a member of the Peabody Council on Aging and he regularly attended activities there with his beloved mother. His other hobbies and interests included classic television and economics.
Along with his father, Russell Charles Musgrave, Sr., Russell is predeceased by a brother, Charles; a brother-in-law, James; and by his roommate of 25 years, Tom. He is survived by his mother, Flora (Turgeon) Musgrave of Peabody; his sister, Beatrice Morin of Epping, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews. Russell will be missed by his extended family of Bass River, the men of Grove Street whom he shared his life with for more than thirty years, and by his loving mother.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Berube and Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St., (Route 1A/114), Salem. A celebration of Russell's life will be held in the funeral home Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. followed by burial in Puritan Lawn in Peabody. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Russell's name to the Peabody Senior Center, 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960, or to Bass River, Inc., 437 Essex St., Beverly, MA 01915.
