Ipswich — Cleo Lampropoulos of Ipswich, Mass., passed away peacefully at Sea View Retreat in Rowley, Mass., on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. She was the daughter of Aphrodite and George Lampros and born in Lawrence, Mass., in 1919.
Cleo married Thomas Lampropoulos of Ipswich, Mass., in 1941. They worked together for many years operating Tom’s Ipswich Clam Company in Ipswich, Mass., and enjoyed 60 years of a devoted, happy, married life together. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom, in 2001. Cleo was an accomplished watercolorist. She started painting at age 50, painting flowers her husband grew for her. She was a member of the Beverly Guild of Artists and exhibited her paintings in Beverly from time to time.
Cleo is survived by her daughter, Constance Lampropoulos of Ipswich, Mass., and was predeceased by her son, Stephen George, of Hawthorne, Mass., in 2003. She is also survived by her sister, Nicoletta Retalis of Andover, Mass., and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers, Perry, Theodore and William, and her sister, Christine Pappas. She is also survived by her faithful cat, Missy.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held Monday, April 22, at 10 a.m. at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 8 Lafayette Road, Ipswich. Burial will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours will be Sunday, April 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main Street, Ipswich. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
