West Bridgewater, MA — Hilda Edith York, age 78, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013, in Brockton, Mass., after a brief illness. Born Thursday, December 13, 1934, in Beverly, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Raymond L. and Josephine (Pender) York.
Hilda graduated from Beverly High School and was a resident of West Bridgewater. She was a porcelain artist and ceramics teacher at her own studio and enjoyed Swedish weaving, puzzles, and crafts of all types. She was a member of the West Bridgewater Senior Center and also of the Cochesett United Methodist Church in West Bridgewater.
She is survived by her daughter, Holly-Jo Cloutier of Pennsylvania; a granddaughter, Sarah Cloutier-Lada of Pennsylvania; two grandsons, Jan Jason Cloutier and Shawn Cloutier; two sisters, Thelma Pope and Florence Desrocher of Florida; a brother, Leonard York of Illinios; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend, Doreen Healy of Lowell. She was predeceased by her brothers, Clifton L. York and Douglas York.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. at New England Baptist Church, 560 North Main St., West Bridgewater. Visitation will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m.
