Ida Longeway


Salem — Ida Longeway, of Salem, died on Saturday afternoon at the Grosvenor Nursing Home in Salem, following a long illness.

She was the devoted wife of the late Milton E. Longeway. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Constance (Saints) Lewis. She was a lifelong resident of Salem.

Ida was a member of the Carmel Club, and enjoyed line dancing, reading, crossword puzzles, walking, and knitting and had a great sense of humor. Her greatest joy was being with her family and sharing in all of their endeavors.

She is survived by her son, Brian Longeway of Salem; and by her sisters, Evelyn Nabozny of Peabody, Mary Lewis of Salem, and Julie Linehan of Rochester, N.Y.; a niece; and three nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Constance “Connie” Mello, and Manuel, Francis and William Lewis.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, at 11a.m., at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
