SALEM — Flora T. (DiMambro) Tina, 94, of Salem, wife of the late Joseph J. Tina, with whom she had shared 61 years of marriage, died on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at the Aviv Center for Living, Peabody, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Maria (Cornacchia) DiMambro. She was a lifelong resident of the city and a communicant of the former St. Mary’s Italian Church. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by GTE Sylvania at the Boston Street, Salem plant.
Flora’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Aviv Center, as well as the Hospice of The North Shore, for the respect, love and care extended to their mother during her illness.
Mrs. Tina is survived by two sons, John and his wife, Donna Tina of Bonaire, Ga., Stephen and his wife, Debi Tina of Beverly; two daughters, Maria Tina and her husband, John Stanchfield of Marblehead, and Patricia and her husband, Joseph Meara of Salem; five grandchildren, Matthew and his wife, Ashley Tina of Swampscott, Jamie Pomakis and Jessica Pomakis, both of Ipswich, and Alex Tina and Elizabeth Tina, both of Beverly; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Dante DiMambro of Tyler, Texas; one sister, Elsa Fiske of Salem; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph DiMambro, Roger DiMambro, Anthony Dee, and Alexsandra Femino.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, at noon, at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to noon. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Aviv Center For Living, Arlington Unit, 240 Lynnfield St., Peabody, MA 01960.
