Robert W. Cannon, 80


Peabody — Robert W. Cannon, 80, husband of Francisca (Cota) Cannon, formerly of Beverly, died on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at the Blueberry Hill Healthcare Center in Beverly.

Born in Danvers, he was the son of the late Elwin L. and Flossie L. (Hughes) Cannon. He was raised in Beverly, and received his education in the Beverly School System.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served is country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Cannon had been employed for many years as a salesman for Loring Motors of Salem.

A resident of Peabody for the past 28 years, he was an avid woodworker and enjoyed spending time in the garden. Mr. Cannon was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Maria Rendeiro and her husband, John, of Peabody, Francisca Matola of Monroe, N.C., Patricia Morrissey and her husband, Daniel, of Rockport, Roberta Martiniello and her husband, John, of Reading, and Joan Cannon of Manchester, N.H.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Fultz of Exeter, N.H.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch St., Beverly, on Thursday, October 17, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours at the Campbell–Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the North Beverly Cemetery.
