Peabody — Pamela M. (MacGowan) Lovett, 74, beloved wife of Donald Lovett of Peabody, died peacefully at her home on Monday November 4, 2013, while in the comforting presence of her family.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Elmer A. and Grace E. (Knowlton) MacGowan. She grew up in Fairhaven, and graduated from Fairhaven High School, Class of 1957. She then enrolled at Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. She worked a short time for State Street Bank & Trust in Boston.
Mrs. Lovett was a faithfully devoted member of the West Congregational Church community. She served as the church secretary in the 1980s and into the 1990s. Pamela also took on a leadership role in Women’s Ministries and Bible study. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlepoint, and decorating her home.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Lovett of Peabody, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage; two daughters and their spouses, Allison and Douglas Desautell of Massachusetts, and Alexandra and Mark Olson of Masachusetts; three grandchildren, Douglas, Parker and Cameron Desautell of Massachusetts; three brothers, Jonathan C. MacGowan of Florida, J. Edwin Jones III of Virginia, and Charles M. Jones of Massachusetts; a sister, Nina M. Bonnoyer of Massachusetts; a sister-in-law, Patricia MacNeil of Massachusetts, and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for her funeral service on Saturday, November 9, at 10 a.m., in West Congregational Church, 27 Johnson Street, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m., in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
